Westfield, NJ, November 24, 2015 – The Westfield Memorial Library Foundation (WMFL) is pleased to announce three new initiatives this winter season.
· Gift Wrapping Event: Finally finished your shopping, but too tired to wrap all your gifts? Let the board of the foundation do it for you this year. We’ll be on hand at the Library on December 1st from 5-7:30pm for our first wrapping event. Then for late shoppers, bring your kids for some treats and crafts on December 19th from 11am-2pm for our second wrapping event.
· Children’s Bookplates: You will soon be able to purchase bookplates at the Children’s desk on your next trip to the library. Starting mid-December (follow us on Facebook for the exact launch date), you will be able to chose your book, filled out your choice of colorful book plate, and see it adorn their favorite stories (or yours)! Designed by local artist, Linnea Rhodes, each one represents a season, because it’s ALWAYS the season for reading.
· Jazz Series: Through a generous donation to the WMLF, in memory of longtime library patrons Joseph and Dorothy Weiss, we are thrilled to announce the first in our 2016 Jazz Series. On February 10th, Jazz Pianist Keith Franklin, will perform at the library. He has toured in the U.S and opened for Blood Sweat and Tears and B.B. King, among others.
All proceeds from both fundraising campaigns will be used on improvements to the library building, programs and services throughout 2016. Follow us on Facebook for updates on both our fundraising efforts and highlights on the work being done at the library.
